Il 28 marzo 2020, nonostante l’intero Paese fosse in “lockdown” a causa del coronavirus, l’Associazione Civiltà dell’Amore è riuscita a svolgere e portare a termine via Web la programmata tavola rotonda sul tema:

Per detta relazione si riportano qui di seguito le risposte scritte, in Italiano ed in English:

Cari giovani, il mio contributo a Economy of Francesco lo troverete sul sito web di Nuclearforpeace.org .  Vuole essere una riaffermazione indiretta di alcuni principi etici per la Pace ben espressi nella Dottrina Sociale della nostra Chiesa; ma, vuole essere al tempo stesso l’invito ad una personale riflessione su alcune domande nella parte finale raccolte tra la gente. La speranza è che vi poniate con sincerità di cuore quegli stessi interrogativi cercando risposte nella situazione di emergenza improvvisa imposta dal Coronavirus alla Società Globale. L’augurio è quello che possiate avere esperienza della presenza del Cristo Risorto nella Storia, che – per parafrasare un nostro Pastore – ci attende al Pozzo della Globalizzazione (vedi http://roccomorelli.blogspot.com/2020/04/nei-tempi-della-pandemia-in-cammino.html) .

Dear juniors, you will find my contribution to Economy of Francesco on the Nuclearforpeace.org website. It is intended to be an indirect reaffirmation of some ethical principles for Peace well expressed in the Social Doctrine of our Church; but, it wants to be at the same time the invitation to a personal reflection on some questions collected among people. The hope is that you will sincerely ask yourself those same questions by seeking answers in the sudden emergency imposed by the Coronavirus to the Global Society. The wish is that you may experience the presence of the Risen Christ in History, which - to paraphrase one of our Pastors - awaits us at the Well of Globalization (see http://roccomorelli.blogspot.com/2020/04/nei-tempi-della-pandemia-in-cammino.html).

Il futuro sarà un tempo difficile e tutto da ricostruire. Sarà necessaria estrema onestà e serietà negli intenti e nelle azioni per salvaguardare quell’unicum costituito da creato e creature insieme. Non ci vorrà meno energia del passato, ma più energia di tipo diverso, in parte ancora da scoprire, che richiederà molto lavoro, molta ricerca, grande solidarietà, in accordo a principi etici spesso dimenticati nel recente passato. Il tempo innanzi a voi appare un tempo decisivo per dare, in Cristo, al Mondo quella svolta che lo renda umano e santo al tempo stesso, così come lo aveva voluto il Creatore sin dal Principio. L’auspicio è che Egli vi doni la Forza e la Santità per riuscire in questa impresa.

The future will be a difficult time and everything to be rebuilt. Extreme honesty and seriousness in the intentions and actions will be necessary to safeguard that uniqueness made up of creation and creatures together. It will not take less energy than the past, but more energy of a different type, in part yet to be discovered, which will require a lot of work, a lot of research, great solidarity, in accordance with ethical principles often forgotten in the recent past. The time before you appears to be a decisive time to give the world, in Christ, the turning point that makes it human and holy at the same time, as the Creator had conceived it from the beginning. The hope is that He will give you the strength and holiness to succeed in this effort.
